FAQ
Q: Are there any restrictions as to when and where you can fly?
A: Yes. Drone operations in the United States are regulated by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Certain locations may have airspace restrictions, particularly near airports or in controlled airspace, which may require additional authorization before a flight can take place.
Weather conditions also play an important role in flight safety. High winds, rain, or poor visibility may prevent safe drone operations. Safety is always our first priority, so every flight is evaluated based on location, weather conditions, and applicable regulations.
Q: what areas do you serve?
Optics at Altitude provides drone photography, aerial video, and visual media services across Massachusetts’ South Shore and surrounding communities.
We frequently work with clients in towns including Marshfield, Scituate, Plymouth, Duxbury, Kingston, Pembroke, Norwell, Hanover, and Hingham. Depending on the scope of the project, we may also travel to other areas throughout Massachusetts.
For a more complete list of communities we serve, please visit our Service Areas page.
Q: do i need permission for drone photography on my property?
In most cases, property owners can request drone photography of their own property. However, all drone operations must still comply with FAA regulations and airspace restrictions, regardless of property ownership.
If a property is located within controlled airspace or near certain restricted areas, additional authorization may be required before a flight can take place. When planning a project, we review the location and determine whether any approvals or adjustments are necessary.
Q: How much do your services cost?
A: Pricing varies depending on the scope of the project, location, airspace requirements, and the number of images or video deliverables requested.
Because each project is unique, we provide custom quotes tailored to the specific needs of the client. For more information about pricing and how projects are quoted, please visit our Pricing page.
Q: How long does a typical shoot take?
Most drone photography sessions take 30–60 minutes on site, depending on the scope of the project.
Larger commercial projects or aerial video productions may require additional time for planning, flight operations, and filming.
Q: How soon will I receive the final product?
A: Turnaround times vary depending on the scope of the project and the amount of editing required.
Most photo projects are delivered within 24–48 hours, while video projects or larger commercial projects may require additional editing time. During the planning process we will provide an estimated delivery timeline for your specific project.
Q: do you offer real estate photography?
Yes. In addition to drone photography, Optics at Altitude now offers full real estate media services, including both aerial and ground photography.
These services allow real estate professionals to showcase listings with high-quality interior, exterior, and aerial imagery.
Q: Do you provide services for commercial businesses, construction, and property management?
A: Yes. Optics at Altitude provides aerial photography and visual media services for a variety of commercial applications, including businesses, construction projects, property management, and development sites.

Q: Do you provide video editing services?
A: Yes. Video editing and post-production services are available depending on the needs of the project. This may include editing aerial footage into a finished video suitable for marketing, social media, or promotional use.
Editing services are typically quoted as part of the project depending on the complexity of the footage and the final deliverables requested.
Q: Can you fly indoors, or provide close-ups?
A: Indoor drone flights can present additional safety challenges and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Factors such as space limitations, obstacles, and the presence of people must be carefully evaluated before an indoor flight can be conducted.
Drone equipment can also generate noticeable noise, which may interfere with certain events or environments. For outdoor projects, close-up aerial shots may be possible depending on the location, number of people present, and nearby obstacles.

A: Our aerial systems capture high-resolution 4K HDR video and 48-megapixel RAW photographs, allowing for detailed and professional-quality imagery.
